CPSC and Lasko Products, Inc. Announce Recall of
Ceramic Heaters Manufactured in 2005
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), Lasko
Products, Inc. of West Chester, PA, is recalling approximately 1.2 million
ceramic heaters manufactured in 2005. Localized heating may occur in the power
cord where the cord enters the base of the unit, creating a potential fire
hazard. The recall includes several models of heaters which were sold at major
retail stores, home improvement centers, hardware stores and other retailers
nationwide in late 2005 and early 2006.
Consumers should stop using these heaters immediately. If your heater is
affected by this recall, you can register on-line or call Lasko Products toll
free any time at 1-800-984-3311 to receive a free replacement heater.
To start your recall registration, please click one of the following product
images that best depicts the model of your Lasko heater, or check the label at
the base of heater to determine the corresponding model number. (If you have
more than one heater, the registration process will permit you to return to
this screen to register more than one model or more than one heater).
YOU MUST RETURN YOUR HEATER BEFORE A REPLACEMENT WILL BE
SENT. ALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION IS SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION UPON RECEIPT OF

families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical
hazard or can injure children. The CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer
products - such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household
chemicals - contributed significantly to the 30 percent decline in the rate of
deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.
